Look! Sequins!!

I've been making some progress on my 1940's sequined blouse:
Check out my post over at the Sew Weekly for more photos and details of my crazy week!!

Also another lovely reader, Petit Main found McCall 9047, one of the missing McCall images, on Wondertrading's flickr stream.
I really love it!!

Happy Friday everyone!

  4. Oh Debi I am so sorry you are having to go through so much stuff at the same time!! That is just awful. I am glad to hear you're feeling more optimistic, that is definitely a good start. If it's any consolation your sequins look AMAZING and that's going to be an amazing blouse. Thinking good thoughts for you from across the pond!! ♥

  5. Wow, the sequin blouse looks beautiful so far. I have some sequined fabric that's been in my stash for years, but I still haven't figured out what to do with it!

  6. The blouse is looking lovely! I like the warm colour and the flash of the sequins which isn't over the top. So sorry to hear about all the trouble you're having lately. I hope things get better soon.

  8. Debi, I´m so sorry to hear about the flat and the job - I hope it´ll turn out alright as soon as possible! Good thing you have a gorgeous almost done sequin blouse to cheer you up. Nothing like a little hand labor to take the mind off what is troubling us! :-)

  10. Hey Debi, really sorry to hear all that's going on in your life right now. I can't believe you have to move home - it seems like you've only just moved!!! And being made redundant is awful, I know exactly how you must be feeling, though you have very sweet-sounding colleagues...fingers crossed their efforts pay off for you!

Sewing-wise, your blouse is going to look heavenly. What a beautiful colour is it and I absolutely love your sequin detail!!!

  11. Very nice! Will be gorgeous when done.

I bought a Retro pattern from Butterick while in the big city shopping yesterday. Its for a evening robe. I found some wonderful silk to make it.

  13. Debi, when it rains, it pours, but I think you have an awesome umbrella made of sequins and wine, and David is helping you hold it. I'm thinking of you and sending you many many fleecey hugs! The blouse (and everything else) will turn out in the end :)
