Fancy Moon Fabric Giveaway

I mentioned yesterday that Fancy Moon: Purveyor of Fine Fabrics is offering one lucky reader 2 metres (approx. 2.2 yards) of their choice of fabric!  Fancy Moon is a fantastic online fabric store with a wide variety of dressmaking and interior design fabrics. With the launch of their new website, Fancy Moon are now selling Fat Quarters alongside metreage. It's one of many new features on their stylish and super-slick, ultra secure new website which was launched in mid September with a fresh clean look, large photographs (YAY!), concise product information and an easy-to-navigate format, giving customers a smooth-sailing cruise through over 600 dazzling fabrics, sewing patterns and notions.

The lovely Nancy from Fancy Moon sent me the fabric I used for my 1950's shirtwaist dress and it was a really great high-quality cotton and the print was just perfect for recreating the 1950's look!  In addition to high-quality and Japanese cottons, Fancy Moon also has corduroy, cotton lawn, gauze, double gauze and interior fabrics!

I'm now on the look-out for more fabulous fabric to make additional 1950's shirtwaist dresses (and maybe a circle skirt) and these are some of my top picks:

 While I probably wouldn't make a shirtwaist dress out of the airplane fabric below, wouldn't it be perfect in some sort of 1940's outfit (maybe as a blouse with a coordinating blue skirt)?

Does this fabric look familiar?  I actually bought some of this fabric when I went to California!  I'm so glad I know where to get more because it's A-MAZING.  The red is so vibrant!

I'm dying to make a shirtwaist out of some adorable kitten fabric, with a contrasting collar and maybe contrasting trim at the bottom?  Check out these adorable kitten fabrics:

To Enter the Giveaway:
Take a look at the Fancy Moon website and leave a comment below saying your ideas on which fabric you'd choose and, if you like, what you'd make with it. The closing date is Friday the 11th of November at midnight GMT.  I'll pick the winner at random and post the results on the following Saturday!  The giveaway is open internationally. A big thank you to Fancy Moon for opening the giveway to readers everywhere!

For additional entries, you can:
  • Blog about the giveaway and come back and leave a link to your blog entry in the comments;
  • Tweet about the giveaway and let me know you've done that in the comments;
  • Write a note/status message on your Facebook page about the giveaway.  Again, just come back here and leave a comment letting me know you've done that!
That's for a total of up to four entries!  Woot, woot!!  Don't forget to leave your email if it's not attached to your blogger profile so I can contact you if you win.

Good luck everyone!!

  7. Oooh it's got to be anything with kittehs on it :) A vintage peter pan collared shirt would fit the bill nicely I think - and 2 meters would be enough!

  8. Agony! Absolute agony, choosing. But seeing as I am soon to make a jacket to cycle in using Sewaholic's new pattern, I'll go for Bicycle Brown, Echino Nico, Etsuko Furuya, Kokka Fabric. Thank you so much to Debi and Fancy Moon for this chance!

  9. I do love that green Joel Dewberry fabric that you picked out above, it's got a great 1930s feel to it. I'd love a blouse made from that, although I'm not sure if the weight would be suitable.
    Thanks for a great giveaway!

  11. Amazing giveaway! I have facebooked it (http://www.facebook.com/threadcarefully), tweeted it (@tabatha_tweedie) and now here's my comment for a third entry! I have been lusting after Cosmo Rose Stone by Cosmo textiles for several months now. Think I'd use it for another Colette Chantilly dress (I know I'd have to buy a bit extra to do this but it would definitely be worth it!). Thanks for the opportunity to win. tabathatweedie@gmail.com x

  116. I've been looking for some linen in a nice print to make a sundress for quite awhile, and I absolutely love the Fantastic Forest series. I don't have anything like that in my closet right now! The Blue Bell cotton lawn would make a great blouse, too.

  123. Wow, that's an amazing site! I've just spent a looooong time browsing it - such a treasure Trove of fabulousness!

    Very very hard to choose, but I think my top pick today would have to be the Ruby Star Tea time Jade to make that 1940's dress pattern you sent me. So adorable! :-)
