(A true classic style, by the way.) We wore tons of those kinds of blouses that had the snap-together crotch (I can't remember what they were called back then!?😣) while I was in high school in the early to mid 1970s! Who knew they went back so far!? I had probably a half dozen of them in different styles, colors, patterns, and designs - like cotton blouses that buttoned up, or zipped, or were even stretchy sweaters. I loved them, especially being long waisted, and wearing them with our hip hugger bell bottom jeans! They were perfect to avoid having to continually retuck our blouses throughout the day, especially during the school day! Im surprised they were relegated to such a tiny space as this - one little corner of one page, and only a couple of colors? Pity. But then WE got to take advantage of them 30 years later! I wish I could remember what they were called back then?? (My husband - Mr. Smartypants - told me he called them "onesies" like the baby clothes back then!)Shari Dhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01069180547303455413noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4366076016909992831.post-29178665351924141382011-01-18T17:27:52.413+00:002011-01-18T17:27:52.413+00:00I don't know what people have against the high...I don't know what people have against the high-waisted pants of yesteryear. I'm torn between a classic blouse - similar to those above - using an 80s? pattern or a more contemporary pattern from BWOF magazine. I particularly love the woman in navy slacks, the white blouse and penny loafers.

I too hope to have a classic white blouse in my future. I'm trying to get a few more collared blouses under my belt first as I'm not that advanced in sewing, but I have a perfect lightweight cotton with just a bit of texture to it. I'd love a few other variations in white as well, they just are so versatile. Of course, I say this as I stare into my closet of entirely patterned blouses... clearly I need to do something about that, sewn myself or vintage. ;)Tashahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11368418516615371972noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4366076016909992831.post-35251408273217612272011-01-13T23:43:07.658+00:002011-01-13T23:43:07.658+00:00@Isaspacey---hmmmm...you may be right!
