YAY! I finished up McCall 3638 just in time to catch what was left of the daylight for some photos!
I made view A which is the collarless version:
Here's a close-up of the bodice:
You can see our town in the background of this photo:
I had originally wanted to have tartan covered buttons, but alas, the fabric was too thick to make my own buttons with--so I made the tartan belt instead (which matches the jacket, shoes and purse)!
With a jacket the dress becomes a suit frock!
Oh...I love it! It's such a great basic color....what do you think?
C'est magnifique! I love it. The little bodice looks so happy, and its great with the jacket for a dress-suit.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! You look so chic!
ReplyDeleteDebi, I LOVE this!! Especially with all your tartan accessories!
ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful!! - stand alone or with the sweet jacket. I'd love trying a blouse out of the top's design but I've done a web search for the pattern with no luck. It looks like McCalls has used this number - 3836 - a few times. DARN.
ReplyDeleteNice job!!

ReplyDeleteReally beautiful. I would have no idea that a jersey, a modern fabric, would work with a 1940s dress pattern. Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThat dress is AWESOME. As is the backdrop. I know what you mean about daylight hours. It makes taking photos of FOs really difficult when you have to squeeze it around a day job.
ReplyDeleteIt is such a beautiful and totally feminine dress, Debi. I love it!! The colour is amazing on you and looks terrific with your beloved Ness items. Job well done!
