For Me-Made-May day 4 I wore my new blouse made from Simplicity 3688, the same pattern that my trousers came from. I decided to take a risk and do the blouse in hot pink! To say that I was ambivalent about making the blouse is probably fairly accurate. Not only was I not to keen on the pattern to begin with, I wasn't sure if I could pull off such a bright blouse. But I am happy to say that I really like it. Though I think it would only work with the high-waisted trousers (probably why the blouse and trousers are in the same pattern!!)
What do you think?
This is my spring and summer color combo. I'm building my spring and summer wardrobe around two pairs of shoes. But not just any shoes, these lovely shoes from my favorite store Ness:
Here is more of a close-up (oh and I played with doing rolls in my hair!)
It looks REALLY pink in this picture:
I better get sewin' since I've almost worn everything I've made! hehehehe
LOVE the color! But you probably already knew I'd say that. ;) You can definitely pull it off and it makes your cheeks look naturally rosy. Awesome job!
ReplyDeleteVery beautiful and bold color. And your hair looks great as well! I am with you too, I need to get to sewing!
ReplyDeleteThe color (combo) looks out of time, but in a good way! I think it suits you, and the countryside, very well! I love the high waisted trousers. So much nicer than the low-slung fashion.
ReplyDeleteYeah! Love the colour, it's so fantastically feminine, and you have shoes to match! How perfect. Again, love the trousers!
ReplyDeleteI need to get sewing as well, I'll be running out of new items very shortly...
gal, you have so much style! this is just GORGEOUS! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThose are so nice, and your hair is amazing!

Thanks for visiting my blog! I love the hot pink and it looks great on you!
ReplyDeleteI love your blouse! The design is soooo elegant and that pink! It's dreamy :) Please tell us it closes with self-covered buttons in the back!
ReplyDeleteYou make the best outfits. I'm terrible at making both a shirt and a trouser that match, which is why I just like dresses so darn much.
ReplyDeletePink and navy blue is a rocking combination. I remember my mother making me an outfit (mmm, that must have been at least 40 years ago when I was in high school, so I think it counts as vintage) with a navy skirt and a pink and navy hounds tooth checked vest. I wore it with a pink blouse and I thought I was smokin'. That color combination looks great on you.
ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! I think the blouse would look great with a pencil skirt as well.
ReplyDeleteWow...fantastic colour and the blouse turned out wonderfully. Actually, I think the whole outfit rocks!
ReplyDeleteLOVES IT! The hot pink and navy are a stunning colour combo. You are rockin' it in that field! x
ReplyDeleteIt looks fabulous - we should take risks more often if this is the result!
ReplyDeleteYou are right it looks great with your trousers (and your hair!)and I agree with Monika, it would look great with a highwaisted pencil skirt too!
Spectacular combination. You look stunning. I love the hot pink!
ReplyDeleteYup, it's pink alright and it's also very gorgeous indeed! It looks stunning with the navy trousers and that shade really suits your skintone. And those shoes are so cute! What a fab outfit.
ReplyDeleteThe pink and navy look fabulous! Well done.
ReplyDeleteSensational! I'm really glad you went with the hot pink. It looks fabulous on you and look amazing with the trousers and shoes. (The shoes!! So cute!!)
ReplyDeleteI adore strong colours and, girl, you can pull it off. That is a gorgeous combination. Not just of colours - I agree that the high waist really makes it, too. Absolutely marvellous.
ReplyDeleteI love that look. I love the 40 style trousers and the very feminine blouse. It looks great.
ReplyDeleteThe love, love, love the shirt in hot pink. Cute shoes, too.
