What I'm Working On....

Hello lovelies! Sorry it has been quiet in my neck of the woods!

This week at the Sew Weekly the theme is green for St. Patty's Day and I'm working on the dress below:

I think this might be my first attempt at sewing something from the 1960's!  I've got some groovy green fabric and I think it will look hot, baby, yeah! (giggle)....

What are you working on this week?

  2. Lovely pattern, I particularly like the neckline in number 2. This week I'm finishing my 50s dress, Advance 2968. Just some hand sewing and it's done!

  3. that's a really versatile pattern! I'm going to finish up a green dress too! But probably not in time for St. Patty's...that's OK. I didn't realize the Sew Weekly challenge was green. I always seem to be a week behind over there. ;)

  4. Ooh, I'm excited to see you make a 1960s dress! I wore one I had made yesterday but I really don't love it so much anymore. I think the high neckline and shapelessness ruined it for me.

  5. I made that pattern last year! It was super easy. I used the square neckline. The dress was so comfortable I wore it at least once a week all summer long. I love to see different people's versions of the same pattern, so I look forward to yours!

  6. The 60's had fun clothing, this is so unlike you to dive into a different decade. You are full of surprises! I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions of the 60's patterns verses the 40's. Thanks Debi, everything you make is lovely.

  8. Oh hey! I made that dress a few years ago for myself (I don't have it any more... it was like 10 years ago and I have had a baby since then!) I liked it, but it only looked good with high heels on me (partly because of the length I made it - it might have been better if I had shortened it). Mind you the heels thing would have been fine except I made it in a light blue summery fabric that looked terrible with any of my black heels - the only ones that worked were my white sandals from my wedding, and they were not your everyday shoes so I really didn't wear the dress as much as I wanted to. I made version 2 by the way. I did wear it to a wedding with a great big hat.

sorry about the novel you just got! I am looking forward to seeing yours!
