This week's Mission McCall covers pattern numbers 9081-9090. For those of you new to the series, my goal is to update the Vintage Pattern Wiki so that it's complete for all McCall patterns from mid 1936-1940. If you have any source images for any of these patterns, email them to me and I'll add them to the Vintage Pattern Wiki!
First pattern up this week is McCall 9081, a lovely bathrobe:
I really love this double-breasted bathrobe...so chic!
I am missing the image for McCall 9082 but 9083 is already in the Wiki...a super adorable dress:
I absolutely love how the details are mimicked on the back of the dress as well:
9084 is another amazing dress pattern:
McCall 9085 (also already in the Wiki) has a great bow detail:
I'm missing the image for McCall 9086 but have 9087 which is a men's bathrobe. I am not quite sure what to make of the expressions on their faces:
I am missing the image for McCall 9088 but 9089 is already in the Wiki:
LOVE the back on this sundress!!!
Last up this week is 9090 which is another fantastic dress:

All of these are so lovely, but I think 9085 and 9089 are my favorite. I agree with you, the back of 9089 is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI have to make a copy of 9089! I think it shouldn't be too hard to cobble together different patterns to come up with this.
ReplyDeleteHands down, 9089 is my favorite! That glamorous bathrobe is a close second though.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is 9083 this week. Very elegant.
ReplyDeleteThe bathroom is fabulous!
ReplyDelete9089 - How fantastic?! That's another pattern on my "To Find" list xx
ReplyDeleteDebi - what an amazing undertaking, that's an awful lot of patterns to plough through!
ReplyDeleteI like the green/white floral dress (9089) the best - the back detail is lovely, perfect for hot summer weather :)
I deally do think that McCall patterns are my favourite in general...there are many gorgeous vintage patterns out there, but there's something special about McCall's. This week, for me, I think it's a toss up between 9089 and 9083! Thanks for sharing ;o)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE 9089. How creative is that back?
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the dress with the back bodice slits. So, so elegant!
ReplyDeleteDrool! Love McCall 9089!
ReplyDeleteOoooh, the back on that sundress, with the splits! Divine! (Want!!)
ReplyDeleteHello are you still looking to update McCall 9088 because I found it! It's listed for sale here http://betsyvintage.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=5351. The reason I went looking for it is because I've received someone's sewing patterns from the 40s cut out from whatever household paper, newspaper they had to hand. One of them was labelled McCall 9088 so I just had to hunt it down to see what it looked like. It's gorgeous :)
