Thank you all for your lovely comments on my last post! It was like receiving a hundred virtual hugs from around the world. It meant so much to David and me! Thank you!!
I've been participating in Me-Made-May and it's time for a little round-up of outfits from last week (I missed the first day as I thought it was still April...hehehehehe):
The Lady of the Lake dress (McCall 3228 from 1939)
The 'Life Happens' Blouse (McCall 1192 from 1945) and my 'Yipppeeeee Trousers' (Simplicity 3688 reissued pattern from 1941)
My 'I Need to Do More Lounging' Pyjamas (Simplicity 1558 from around 1933) and my 'Deco the Halls Tunic' (1933 reproduction pattern from VPLL)
My 'First Blouse' (DuBarry 5327 from 1942) and my 'Going Green' trousers (Simplicity 3688 reissue from 1941). I should call this outfit 'Rain, rain, go away....'
I tried out Casey's new tutorial for a 1940's braided hairstyle (LOVE it)! Hers is way neater than mine. Lol.
It's been fun to follow everyone's Me-Made-May outfits! Do you find that you experiment more this month than normal with styling your handmade outfits?
Lovely to see you using old patterns to make clothes. I am having a 1970's flashback at the moment and trying out a few Willi Smith patterns for the second time. Not quite the glamorous 30s and 40s, but practical and fun.
ReplyDeleteAwww, I love Day 6, looking out at the rain! It's finally sunny here for the first time in what feels like forever. :)
ReplyDeleteAaaw, Debi! Your outfits are all so chic and you always look so era-appropriate! Your hair on Day 6 is just stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! Love your outfits (as always)!
ReplyDeleteYou look lovely and chic as ever Debi! I haven't stopped by in awhile. Love the new photo format!
ReplyDeleteI just love your style! I've been following your blog for some time and haven't seen a thing you've made that I haven't liked. I'd love to overhaul my wardrobe in a similar vintage style. Can you give me some advice on how and where to start? What are the basics one must have for a 40's/50's style wardrobe? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh Debi you're such a darling in your MMM outfits... and so sad to hear about your lovely friend Ebi, they are more than just animals, our pets hey? Super big love to you and David xoxoxoxo
ReplyDeletei like all of your outfits, especially the trousers! i definitely feel like im experimenting more this month since im taking pictures of myself! lol. I'm trying to wear more of what i made vs bought clothes this month, and digging my closet to find old stuff i made years ago!
ReplyDeleteLooks good Debi! I would have loved to participate but most of the things I've made I can't wear to work :( Oh well.
ReplyDeleteI love all your outfits! They look great!!
ReplyDeleteLovely outfits Debi. So sorry to hear about your Ebi. It's always sad when we loose our pets...we feel so lost without them. Hugs to you both.
