Wow, can you believe we are already in the middle of May? Unbelievable! Here's a recap of what I've been wearing for Me-Made-May this last week...
1950's 'Betty's Riding Blouse' (Maudella 1268 ), my Ness waistcoat (I'm so happy the blouse goes with this so well!) and my 'Yipppeeee' Trousers (Simplicity 3688)
My '1940 dress' (McCall 3638) with matching Ness shoes and me-made belt
My '1931 Spring Suit' jacket (EvaDress repro pattern) with my '1933 Deco the Halls Tunic Dress' (VPLL repro pattern)
My '1940 Sundress' (McCall 4043) with my Ness shoes and thrifted cardigan
My 'Raspberry Sorbet' dress (a favourite me-make from McCall 5384) and my favourite shoes again (from Ness)
The 'Kitten' skirt (McCall's 8947 from the 50's) with a thrifted blouse and cardigan sweater.
YAY! I'm having so much fun with Me-Made-May!
Which of these outfits is your favourite?
Oh, I love the "Raspberry Sorbet" dress, but my favourite outfit ist the one of MMM 13. The skirt ist stunning, I adore the shoes, everything fits perfectly together, and by the way, your hair are wonderfull at this picture.
ReplyDeleteGreetings from Germany from Ute
Hi Ute! Thanks so much! I really enjoyed pairing up that skirt with a bit more conservative blouse and sweater--they seem to balance each other out! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love your 5/13 outfit! The skirt is great! It's not even the outfit - you just look so pretty! And your hair looks wonderful :)
ReplyDeleteThe last outfit is definitely my favorite. Plus, you look gorgeous with your hair down!
ReplyDeleteOh my, you are too cruel for making us pick a favourite Debi! If I absolutely had to, I'd be torn between your stunning raspberry sorbet dress and your playful kitten skirt!
ReplyDeleteOh wow, I love that striped 1940s dress and the 1950s skirt - both goregous!
ReplyDeleteI think this time around, I like day 11 the best, with your 1940 sundress and Ness shoes. And such a cute pairing of different prints to boot!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that could make me love your blog more is if you scanned in the pattern envelopes. I love to see them. (Surprise!)
ReplyDeleteDay 12 and 13 are my favorites. And your hair looks amazing in the day 13 photo! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that last one the Kitten! so gorgeous, really flatters your figure and gives you a lovely waist and the print is fabulous! Also love your shoes! Love the raspberry sorbet too, but the kitten is just so easy breezy looking!
ReplyDeleteI like them all, but I just LOVE the Raspberry Sorbet and the Kitten skirt!!!
ReplyDeleteI really like this particular outing for your 1940 Dress - your photo here shows it in a completely different light (even though I love the other shots with the jacket too).
ReplyDeleteYour Raspberry Sorbet dress is my absolute favourite!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Sarah on this. It's lovely!
ReplyDeleteI would love your input. In a 1916 diary entry, my grandmother describes an outfit she has put together to wear to a wedding. She writes about a pink chiffon girdle. Do you have any idea what that is? Thank you so much. http://www.starwoodquilter.blogspot.com/2012/05/old-maids-puzzle-quilt-block.html
ReplyDeleteThe Raspberry Sorbet dress is definately my favorite. The fit is great, the colour really suits you and the design is just lovely. I also quite like the 'kitten' skirt.
ReplyDeleteI'm no real expert here, but in this case, "girdle" might just refer to a belt (in the pink chiffon, probably a fancy one to be worn over the dress).
ReplyDeleteTerms for items of clothing often go through a 'life cycle' of sorts and the contraption we think about when reading the word girdle is after all a form of suspender/garter belt.
Raspberry Sorbet dress! :) I want one too!
ReplyDeleteHA! No way could I pick a favorite. These are all so different and so beautiful. And it's lucky that you are so far away because if I saw you in person, I would try to steal your shoes. Or at least drool all over them. Okay, I guess that would be weird. But I do love your shoes.
ReplyDeleteEach day looks great but 12 and 13 just kick it into overdrive! Beautiful outfits. Also, your hair looks Hollywood-stylist good in the last picture!
ReplyDeleteGosh, you are looking so freaking fabulous. Love these ensembles! You really have a knack for this, lady!
ReplyDeleteI love them all, but I think I favour the first and last a smidgen more!
ReplyDeleteYou are right, May is flying by!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful outfits and I love your Kitten skirt.
