Hi everyone! Thank you for the wonderful anniversary wishes yesterday! Celebrating eight years and surviving the end of the world, not bad for a Saturday :)
I'm super excited to have been asked by Tilly from Tilly and the Buttons to do a guest post today on my thoughts on sewing productivity! Check it out here...I would love to hear your thoughts!!
In other news, I'm hoping to make some progress on a new blouse for both the Sew Weekly and the Sewing Through the Decades Challenges:
It's from 1945 and I am LOVING the sequins! This will be a first--but I'm super excited to sew up this blouse!!! I'll keep you posted on the progress!
oooo, an evening blouse, something you just don't see nowadays (there WAS a big blow out of heavily sequinned, big shouldered evening tops in the 80s, but nothing since), and which would actually be a really interesting thing to have - you can wear it with a short skirt, a long plain evening skirt or even pants. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteThis going to be a gorgeous blouse.
ReplyDeleteOoh! I can't wait to see the blouse!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog via your guest post on Tilly's. This McCall's blouse is lovely! Lately I've been very attracted to tops with this type of shape. I have very narrow shoulders, so I'm always looking for styles that give me the illusion of shoulders. :)
ReplyDeleteI just read and commneted. Funnily enough a subject I have been thinking a lot about lately!
ReplyDelete"I keep my visioning very positive. I never imagine running into problems — I always imagine a smooth sewing process."
ReplyDeleteI love that!
I can see why you are super excited about this blouse.....are you really going to do the sequining?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous blouse, Debi! The sequins are so beautiful! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you have done a post on Tilly project. Your blouse is wonderfull, really looking forward to seeing this made up. PS congratulations on the 8 years!!
ReplyDeleteDebi, you are crazy brave for taking on sequins! Are you going to hand sew each one or were you able to find them already sewn to a strand? I'm working up the nerve to attack that pattern we were talking about, but the sequins intimidate me.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful wandering about the productivity of time sewing, I just read it in Tilly and you inspired me to new impulses much, thank you, Lady.
ReplyDeleteI'm anxious to see the top with sequins, Wow! Sounds like fun.
I have been eying that pattern for some time myself (but just haven't bought a copy). :) The sequins are what get me every time--so pretty! I cannot wait to see your version!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd congrats on the guest post too--I highly enjoyed reading your thoughts on sewing productivity!
Did you see you're on Craftzine blog today for your sewing productivity post?! :)
