OWOP Day 3: Sunshine Galore!
OWOP pattern: Simplicity 3688 dark green trousers made in a lightweight suiting material. First blogged about here. These trousers are perfect for warmer spring days.
Styling: I wore my green trousers with my very first me-made garment, a blouse from a 1942 Du Barry pattern, my favourite black cardigan and my Ness pink tartan wedge shoes.
What I did: I went to work and then went out at lunchtime to enjoy the absolutely BEAUTIFUL day! My boss (who is Scottish) says that she doesn't remember ever having such a lovely sunny and warm day in March. Ever. It was almost 70 degrees (20 degrees Celsius)--that's like our summer weather!
Here's to many more sunny days!

Down here the weather was amazing too !!! Love that you doing your swop with trousers..
ReplyDeleteOoh i love this preppy chic look Debi! That backdrop is stunning too - wow.
ReplyDeleteHi Debi,
ReplyDeleteI'm a long time reader of your blog and just love all the things you sew. You're such an inspiration. But what I love most, are all the picture you take with the landscape of Scotland. We have been there twice, before our girls have been born and we just loved it. And despite everybody said, take care of the weather, every time we went there it was just lovely.
Many greetings from southern Germany
Ute
I'm so impressed with anyone doing this owop thing - I'd have to do some serious cheating to participate! LOL
ReplyDeleteI love all your versions of the pants so far.
We had gorgeous weather in Southampton too. So nice, but if it carries on it does mean we will be getting a hosepipe ban this year :(
ReplyDeleteI haven't dived into the depths of separates yet. But, I hope someday, I'll be able to make a pair of pants as flattering as these!
ReplyDeleteHere in Indiana summer is 90s or more. Plus humidity. Still, I love it. Scotland does look lovey. I would love to visit someday.
ReplyDeleteHi Debi,
ReplyDeleteI should have taken this challenge to wear a pattern all week, but somehow time got by me. Anyway, I wanted to tell you that I have always loved these pants on you, so last night I brought the pattern on Ebay.If you have any construction suggestions I would love to hear them. These are wonderful, I love the blue ones you did too!
What a great wardrobe staple this pattern has become for you. I must sew myself a pair of pants -especially since I have the perfect pattern (BurdaStyle's Bella)! And I love the backgrounds in all of your photos. I should photoshop them into my photos (hehe).
ReplyDeleteThe weather looks lovely. I love your ness wedges and your OWOP pattern is so flattering. I might have to see if I can find a copy of the pattern.
ReplyDeleteIt really was a lovely day, in Fife too!! I got to take my knitting charts outside for work!
ReplyDeleteI want to be in Scotland - you always have such amazing backdrops to your photos!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! :) I've been wearing my 40s trousers a lot lately too--it's great for this weather. We've been having some days in the 70s and even hitting 80 one day last week! But now it's back to chilly (mid 50s), March-like temps. ;) At least I know spring *is* on the way!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog today through a Simplicity Patterns post on Facebook. I love your projects! I haven't sewn in years but I'm getting my groove back. You're an inspiration!!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit of course! We have been having amazing weather here too (Michigan USA) So warm it was almost too warm, but I'll take that instead of snow. It's dropped back down again but it's still sunny and green.
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit! You look so cute in trousers!
ReplyDeleteScotland truly is amazing! When we first came to visit it was stunning as well! Hope you will be able to come back again sometime soon!
ReplyDeleteWowza! Yeah....80s is smoldering here..hahahha.
ReplyDeleteYAY! So glad you bought the trouser pattern! All your vintage blouses will look awesome with these trousers!!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! can't wait to see your BurdaStyle's Bella!
ReplyDeleteSounds like we are having similar weather :) For spring at least....I know VA will beat Scotland in the weather department when summer comes!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much June! You should definitely start sewing again!!
