Downton Abbey Costumes Up Close...

Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts are holding a series of sewing and crafting expos across the UK.  I am super excited to have bought tickets for the one they are holding in Glasgow this coming weekend!

The best part?  They've got a display of the costumes from the first season of Downton Abbey!  I am SO EXCITED!

That's my favourite season for costumes on the show and perfect for the 1912 centennial.   I'll be sure to snap some good photos.  Let me know if you'll be at the Expo!

In other news, our little Ebi is doing much better.  She was very despondent and wasn't eating and we took her to the vet.  The moment she got out of the carrier she was lively and purring!  The vet had a problem getting her vitals because she was purring too loudly!  David and I both looked at each other in disbelief.  She's been doing great since and has special food and medicine as well.  Happy to have our little kittenypoo almost back to normal!!  Thanks for all your sweet comments and well wishes.

  1. Deb, will  they allow you to take photographs? That would be wonderful, especially if you could get close ups.

  12. How  wonderful! Make sure to take a camera that doesn't need a flash. Hopefully, the lighting will be sufficient. When I toured the Lady Diana dresses this weekend the owner of the exhibit explained to me that insurance issues prevented the use of flash. At the convention center the insurers even made them cover the overhead spotlights with some kind of "gel filter." Hope you have a wonderful time. Hope the collection come to the US. Near me> Please......

  14. Hi Debi, it would have been super fun to go, but I have been holding off confirming as I wasn't sure what my uni pressures would be doing, and now its confirmed I cant go, as I have an interview for Moray House on the following Monday, which I need to prepare for (argh!!). Hope everyone who goes has fun (what am I saying, I am sure you will!).

  18. I hope that you get to take photos too and post them.  I so enjoyed it when I was able to see some of the Season One costumes while I was in Belfast last summer.  I wonder if you will see the same or a different exhibit.  I did a post on the exhibit I saw and showed one of Lady Mary's dresses on my blog.  http://serendipityhandmade.blogspot.com/2011/09/field-trip-starstruck-exhibit-ulster.html
One day soon I'll post the rest on Flickr.  In any case, I can't wait to know (and hopefully see!) this exhibit through you.
