Autumn Color Palette from 1940

Wow, it's hard to believe it's officially Autumn!  Where did the summer go?

The changing of the seasons always makes me think of my sewing plans and specifically what colors I want to focus on in my sewing.  Last spring and summer I really focused on pink and navy to match my two new (at the time) pairs of shoes.

Now, I'm thinking in terms of autumn and winter sewing and I still haven't decided what colors I want to focus on sewing.  So, I turned to some of my magazines from the year 1940 for a little inspiration.  These scans are from the August 1940 Vogue:

I like the use of neutral plaids and prints with a pop of color!

Though I also really like this color combination of blue and taupe:
I especially like that shade of blue--light and dusty....

Which is your favorite color combination?

  1. gray and magenta/fuschia/hot pink color! that's my signature combo actually. though lately I have strangely been really into navy blue.

I really like the olive green and dusty pink combo above.
