A little vintage R & B

Rolls-Royces and Bentleys that is....

A group of vintage Rolls-Royce and Bentley owners brought their lovely cars to the Falkland Palace today.  Viewing the cars was not to be missed...

Check out this amazing 1934 Rolls-Royce (drool):

Bolero and matching skirt: made by me from the 1950's Simplicity 3879 pattern
Gold blouse: Monsoon
Shoes: Payless
Purse: Vintage Mall in Newburg, OR

Here we are in front a 1936 Rolls.  It started raining for just a bit then luckily it stopped and the sun came out!

This is a Bentley from the late 30's/early 40's!  I love the red stripe down the side and the matching hub caps!

This Bentley is around the same time period (just a little older) than the vintage pattern I made my outfit from.  It's an absolutely beautiful shade of green.

All of the car owners were very lovely.  One of them let me sit in his car:
Ahhh...they sure don't make cars like they used to...

  1. Let me just say, the photo of you and your husband, is such a lovely photo. I saw it and thought "My what a handsome couple, and I wish I could get my boy to dress so dapper"

  5. I'm sitting here in Upstate New York, wearing a heavy sweater and a turtleneck, looking at you in your lovely dress. We seem to have skipped over early fall and straight into late October here. Those cars look amazing. My mum (who spend her WWII years in Glasgow and Edinburgh)had a long standing yen for a red MG, but that green Bentley probably would have satisfied her...

  7. No wonder they let you sit in the car - with your vintage inspired frock, you look like a vision right from that era. :)
