I'm working on another McCall pattern, this one is also from 1940:
This is such a classic skirt pattern. It's for a six-gore skirt which adds that nice little flare near the hem. I'm going to make it up in my leftover navy lightweight wool (the same material I made my trousers from).
The pattern is missing it's instructions but I think it should be pretty straightforward. Plus, early McCall patterns are printed which makes it very easy to see all the markings and which sides to match up together.
YAY! Super excited to have a new skirt soon!
It's a lovely pattern. Looks great. I look forward to seeing your version!
ReplyDeletegood luck! It looks fairly straightforward you'll do fine! x
ReplyDeletei believe i have this pattern. i will look for you this weekend and can scan the instructions so you will have them - but yes, it is pretty straightforward - and also a nicely fitting skirt!
ReplyDeletePretty, pretty!! Looking forward to seeing it all done up. :)
ReplyDeleteI love this skirt! It´s very combinable!
ReplyDeleteI am so in love with forties McCalls patterns....
ReplyDeleteAha, similar ideas, LOL. So, now I'm curious about yours!
ReplyDeleteI love gored skirts...
ReplyDeleteIt's funny how confidently you say that you will be able to manage without instructions. Didn't you just start sewing less than a year ago? Just think how far you've come!
